Nowhere in Scripture are we promised that walking with or running with Christ is going to be easy … In fact, quite the contrary … “These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 …
Hebrews 12:1-3, tells us, we are in a race … In that race there will be times (many of them) where we are tempted to quit on God and drop out of the race. These Hebrews believers were enduring an awful time of trial and persecution. In light of that, the writer is attempting to encourage these weary, hurting believers to be faithful to Jesus and continue the race.
Believe me, there are times when it is easy to be discouraged about your own race … Life can be difficult, Trials come, … There are these persistent temptations to drop out, and let other do the running …
Be Encouraged – Don’t drop out!
